1. NOT ASKING FOR GENERAL SAMPLES
If you are not sure what type of woven labels you need or even wonder whether woven labels would work for you, definitely ask our office to send you general samples. We send them for free and there's no obligation to order. While many other label companies provide only one type of woven labels, we want our customers to be well-informed about the different type of labels such as taffeta, satin, high density (50 denier) satin, damask, and high density (50 denier) damask, and also allow people the option to compare them to printed labels. Reviewing some general samples also helps you get inspired or reimagine your design. So, make sure you have Cruz Label's free sample pack of both woven and printed label samples.
2. NOT REVIEWING YOUR DIGITAL PROOF
Once you are ready, your sales person will email you a digital proof of your artwork. It is essential that customers print the digital proof in 1:1 scale to make sure the size is correct. Also check to make sure that the text (spelling included), colors, cutting, folding, and sewing allowance in the artwork are exactly how you want it. Our digitizer will digitize per your approved digital proof and if there are any changes, additional time and correct fee will be charged. So make sure you thoroughly review the digital proof prior to approving it. Samples do not come cut or folded, so make sure you like the preview of your label by reviewing the digital proof.
3. NOT CHECKING YOUR SAMPLE
Cruz Label provides free sampling of your digital proof prior to going into production. We do this to make sure customers know how the printed artwork would be translated into a woven Samples come in strips without any cutting or folding because the point of sampling is to see the woven material with the artwork. We do not 100% match to your pantone color, but we have a pretty wide selection of colors that come close. Make sure to hold the sample to the garment you are sewing on to see if everything looks correct before you approve for production.
4. NOT ORDERING AHEAD
While Cruz Label's turnaround for woven label production is relatively fast, we have customers frequently telling us that they "need them by yesterday!" We have expedited service of 3-4 days production turnaround, but there usually is an expedite fee ($150) and our customers also have to pay for the overnite shipping charge as well. So, order at least 2 weeks ahead to avoid any unnecessary charges and give yourself some time to relax and just wait for the wonderful woven labels to arrive. Ordering ahead also gives you time to receive sampling for free and make sure there are no mistakes in your design.
5. ORDERING ONLY THE MINIMUM
Our woven label production order starts at 500pcs. For smaller pieces of non-custom woven labels, please check out www.allthingslabels.com. For custom woven labels, pricing per label piece decreases significantly as you order more quantity. The more you order, the greater you would have in cost savings. Oftentimes, customers order the bare minimum and keep re-ordering. Or worse, they run out of the label and now have to expedite and spend more money. It's best to invest a little more and have the peace of mind that you have the labels in case you get a big order of your products and need fast delivery time.
